Who is this Jesus?






	Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin in a lowly stable. He committed no sin during this life on earth as He was an example to us of the nature of God (HE IS GOD, Fully God and fully Man) which is love, gentleness, kindness and patience. Jesus was completely submissive to the Father, God, even to His death on the cross as the perfect and just sacrifice for the cleansing of all man's sin. They buried Him in a guarded tomb but on the third day there, He rose from the dead and was ascended up into Heaven to be with His Father/God. Because Jesus in this way, conquered death for us, we may now have eternal life through Him. You see, we all sin. God, being just, said sin had to be paid for, so, because of His love and grace toward us, God sent His Word, Jesus, as Himself, to do just that, pay our sin debt and pardon us. By accepting Christ we will be adopted into the family of God. When we become God's child and not just His creation, we will live forever with Him. So...What do I have to do to get all that? Trust that what Jesus said was true. That He is the Christ, the promised Messiah, the son of the living God and Yes... even God in the Flesh! There's no payment for a free gift! Just Jesus + Nothing...

The message of Easter is simple:

Jesus died for all our sins (yours and mine ALL... past, present and future sins)
He was crucified, died and buried But then...on the third day...
He rose from the dead!!
He then ascended into Heaven to sit at the right hand of His Father (The God of the Bible) and will come again to receive us into Heaven as well as to rule and reign and ultimately judge both the living and the dead here on earth.
His kingdom shall have NO end!

So the message of Easter, the essence of Christianity & the reason for God's Promise of Eternal Life for the followers of Jesus Christ is so simple...

We have an empty tomb!

	The witnesses to the empty tomb

The Women's Testimony. In all four Gospel accounts of the empty tomb, women are listed as the primary witnesses This would be an odd invention, since in both Jewish and Roman cultures women were not esteemed and their testimony was not admissible.

When you understand the role of women in first-century Jewish society, what's really extraordinary is that this empty tomb story should feature women as the discoverers of the empty tomb in the first place.
Women were on a very low rung of the social ladder in first-century Palestine. There are old rabbinical sayings that said, 'Let the words of Law be burned rather than delivered to women' and 'blessed is he whose children are male, but woe to him whose children are female.'
Women's testimony was regarded as so worthless that they weren't even allowed to serve as legal witnesses in a Jewish court of Law.
In light of this, it's absolutely remarkable that the chief witnesses to the empty tomb are these women... Any later legendary account would have certainly portrayed male disciples as discovering the tomb -- Peter or John, for example.
The fact that women are the first witnesses to the empty tomb is most plausibly explained by the reality that -- like it or not -- they were the discoverers of the empty tomb! This shows that the Gospel writers faithfully recorded what happened, even if it was embarrassing. This bespeaks the historicity of this tradition rather than its legendary status. There were many more witnesses too!
